Can we discuss Glycerin?

Ah i took a close look at the popular Heavy Cream and Butter ones.

@Bublin I agree with you. Those two have glycerin in the ingredients. I didn't make that clear in my post. What I was saying is that those were the first two Qhemet products that I tried. They worked ok but no real moistuized feeling. I stopped using Qhemet but when I came to this realization about glycerin I went back to their website (years after trying those two creams). I saw that The heavy cream and burdock butter had glycerin as main ingredients. That's why I tried the Moringa Tree conditioner (that's the one with the small quantity synthetic preservative I described) and the Aethiopika butter. Now I love those products. The point I was trying to make is that I found is I have to go by the ingredients vs judging the line. So I can pick and chose or not choose products from various popular lines like Curl Junkie, Komaza, Qhemet, Oyin without dismissing the whole line. This is probably the same with in store lines as well.

Carrie A ^^^makes alot of sense and something i am just beginning to realise. I don't have to dismiss a whole line but just look carefully at all ingredients.

You've been very helpful.

Lawd have mercy - there is actually an App for Dew points?? So what if the dew point changes and you have inappropriate product in your hair????

Any weather report should mention the dew point. Perhaps try accuweather or weather.com if yours doesn't and you don't want to get an app for that :)

Bublin basically I use water based or aloevera juice based concoctions that i make. I have a good helping of my favorite oils (castor/jojoba) and fav conditioner mixed in an applicator bottle. Then I seal w/castor oil or jbco. I used to stand by creamy or butter based moisturizers-- but now it seems the tide has changed. My hair got very thirsty after years of just butters/creams. I just like my own watery-juicy stuff.

virtue now that is what i have been doing for a while now (i have a spritz of water/leave-in condish/eo oils and then seal with my Castor oil mix).
My hair gets a coating from butters too but i've never found a creamy moisturiser without glycerin (well one that was wasn't excessively priced).
The spritz and sealing seem to be doing me ok but i still think i need something heavier at times.
I've just remembered that i was given a travel size kit of Moroccan Oil products. I used their Hydrating Cream after my spritz - it's glycerin free - and sealed. Today my hair feels good. I'm going to use this for a week and if my hair likes it i'll buy the full size.
