Sidestepping the "lynch mob"
I came across this ad on TV and only stopped to watch it when I saw a lady preaching, but then Alicia Keys' "This Girl is on Fire" phased in, then a photo of a woman engulfed in flames, all in seconds. :covereyes

There's another conference called "Diamonds, Denim & Stilettos"... has anyone heard of these? What in the world... ?

To be nice I'll just say this is a perfect example of "zeal without knowledge".

never heard of these people, it's doubtful that I would attend anything that they are having, I took note on those who would be performing at their events so that I could be mindful of them too...

I take exception to Jesus being spelled gzus ... I don't understand why the people of God want to be hip so badly, why we want to be accepted when the word says something different, why we don't separate ourselves from the things of this world that includes certain phrases and trends that we have picked up ....

Some of us are compromising the word of God in our attempt to cross over to make Jesus more 'appealing' to people, we need to be reminded God doesn't change to accommodate us, it is us that need to be changed...

Desperately. Which is in complete contradiction to our instructions in God's word.
 
What can't people just be normal?

I mean.... Really? Do they have to be so 'out of touch' with normal?
 
well this aligns with Carl Lentz and his wanting to be hip and cool with the masses

This past thanksgiving, the motto at one church was called "Flip The Bird" for donations.. smh

eta. my other pet peeve is how they use secular music to advertise nowadays...there are just as many wonderful christian music to sample

But what is 'Flip the Bird'. Forgive me, I'm just clueless on that one. :spinning:

Basically the church wanted turkey donations for thanksgiving and were handing out bags with pictures on them of a turkey with the theme Flip the Bird on it. lol

Flip the bird or flipping someone off is giving them the middle finger :nono:. Why on earth would they use that as a theme at a Thanksgiving church event???

No way.... :nono: Why would they even go 'there' like that? In Church of all places ! ? ! What is wrong with them? And what about the children who see and hear this? :nono:

:lol: No I didn't. Especially when they mentioned 'Turkey' up thread. All I could do was try and imagine how and why anyone would try and flip something as heavy as a 'Turkey'. :lol:

But this is what I don't understand. Why? Why are they being so sinful doing and saying things like that and upon what is supposed to be God's Altar? I don't understand this. Perhaps they need a lesson from Hopnea and Phineas (sp?). They truly had no respect for the Altar of God. None whatsoever.

These 'folks' with the 'bird' doing flips' are the ones who have 'flipped' their minds. I mean what's the point of having a church if it is not honorable?

I'm not familar with Carl Lentz, so I'll go look him up. That's unfortunately about use of that theme. wow

That is so not right! :mad: Who wants to hear that in Church, let alone outside of Church. :nono:

It's not cute, it's not hip, it's not God! These pastors need to spend time with Jesus and the Word of God. Shame on them! I promise you that if I ever encounter such behavior in a Church, I will personally address it and think nothing of it. :fistshake:

Now they have young children and teens walking around saying that and they look and sound no different than the world full of sin.:nono:

We have enough to deal with protecting their precious souls and then we have a foul mouthed pastor misleading them.
