heeeeeeeeey! Party over here! Hi daviine and drea!
I actually lurk a lot on this board but I decided to join under my usual name today (had a different screen name before)..so you'll be seeng me around more.
Thanks Army QT! I have seen your album also...your hair looks great. I have also been reading that you're getting discouraged about not reaching your goals when you thought you would....
Don't worry about it...you are getting there inch by inch LITERALLY! Just keep doing the right things for your hair and don't think about it too much and before you know it you will be sitting on your hair.
Hey gldspoon i saw 1 of your pics and i c u are a on that site of the Crown and Glory method. Cool. You hair looks alot like mine. I'm gonna try to follow the regimen she put up unless you have a different 1 of your own.
yes I am on the crown and glory website because I basically follow robins regimen and I enjoy wearing braids. Even when I don't wear braids though there are certain things I do.
I am using these products :
- KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo*
- KeraCare Humecto Crème Conditioner*
- KeraCare Setting Lotion (for curls and twist outs)
- KeraCare 5 in 1 Reconstructor (protein treatment)
- Keracare Foam Wrap Set Lotion (for roller sets and wraps)
- Keracare silken seal (when I blow dry for dusts)
- Biosilk Silk therapy
- Black and beautiful hair butter*
- Africas best liquid Mayo*
- Profective Mega growth (for sealing ends)*
- Smooth and shine gel and leave-in*
- LeKair Cholesterol (Deep conditioning)*
Relaxers
I currently use Elucence regular LYE relaxer. Touch ups will be done every 12 weeks.
Dusting
Will be done twice this year (2003) or as needed if splits are noticed. Scheduled dusts take place in August and December. (an inch was taken off in march)
Routine:
Wash and deep condition hair every 3 days. Moisturize ends once or twice every day. Comb hair as little as possible. Wear my bun everyday (and occasionally other protective styles like braids for 3 months at a time)
That's basically it... Only 8 products in the list above I use on a every day basis (and when I wash my hair) and I have put a (*) beside them. The others are used for specific styles and treatments so they last a very long time.
Hello Gldspoon,
Welcome to the board, I'm overjoyed to see you posting here. I am the natural sister in Robin's hair goals gallery. By the way you have very beautiful, heatlhy looking hair. I wish you luck in reaching your goals.
Thank you so much...I am happy to be here amongst so many of my fellow jamaicans (we are all over the place). I have seen your pics and your hair is gorgeous. I plan to go natural once I reach my relaxed hair goal and enjoy it for little bit.I will be using the crown and glory method to transition then also. Isn't robin great?!
Robin is a God Blessed lady, her advice and techniques are wonderful. I have one question for you, I've been natural all my life, Do you think its worth me relaxing or pressing my hair when I reach my goal? I need a second opinion. Thanks
Den--I know you didn't ask me but I don't think you should relax your hair when you reach your goal. What if you don't like relaxed hair? Then you will have undone all your hard work. I DEFINITELY think however you should press your hair every once in a while so that you can have the best of both worlds!

I agree with this. You may not like the relaxer, and once you do it, you can't turn back. Pressing, however, offers you a nice alternative for the days you want to see your hair straight. You can easily wash it out afterwards.
I agree with them DEN keep your natural hair....it is beautiful and I will be cutting off my realxer to go natural in a year or two. Right now you have options girl! Work with them!!
