Give me ONE TIP for a newly relaxed head of hair!

Even though I know you pretty much have it covered.....and you said no repeats....so I wont say what the other ladies have said (and they are IMPORTANT)

1. Use heat sparingly if at all (by MsDee)(abenyo)
2. Keep it moisturized! (qtslim83) (abenyo)
3. Keep ends away from wool in the winter. It's MURDER! (seeminglysweet)
4. Deep Condition (at least once) weekly. (Letitia)

Try to stretch your relaxer touch-ups as much as possible, and avoid overlapping the relaxer onto previously relaxed hair.

Yes, I agree... THROW AWAY YOUR BRUSHES!!!
( That is, if you haven't already )
Brushes are the devil!!!
Unless it's a DENMAN PADDLE BRUSH (LUV THOSE, BUT USE VERY SPARINGLY)
otherwise just use a JILBERE SHOWER COMB (MY FAVORITE HAIR TOOL)
to detangle in the shower, shampoo in sections, and then use a rattail comb to make parts if you're going to rollerset ((which you should do also)).

That's my 2 cent

Hi!:) Try the NTM leave-in after you wash. Also get a light daily moisturizer and remember to seal it in w/ an oil, I use coconut oil.

i plan on going to the salon weekly though for treatments and care
im sure i'll be under the drier weekly as well with rollersets
do you guys think thats okay?
im still planning to moisturize daily and baggy ends as much as possible

Totally OT: but that line next to your avatar is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!! I crack up laughing every time I see that commercial. I like the one where the lady is acting like the minutes are food and there are starving children in Africa too.

One tip: Keep hair moisturized at all times.;)
Sorry, i posted first and read the thread/replies just now.

Satin scarf every night
try not to comb it to much
ends sealed with oil or serum
NTM leave in is good on wet & dry hair. I didn't like it as a leave in on my wet hair...but love it as a moisturizer on my dry hair.

Bad idea. your hair is weak at this stage, why apply so much pressure to it. When you were natural did you put that much pressure on your hair? DOn't do it

You should be able to do your own hair, if not it's time to take some lessons, start by scoping out some of these great teachers we have on here.

If you must I would go sporadically. But definitely stretch in between the relaxer.

make sure u do protein treatments. I slacked on protein treatments and man I paid for it:ohwell: Make sure you do a protein treatment 1 to 2 weeks b4 u relax.

:lachen: I completely forgot about the "africa" one! My parents are from Nigeria and they would always give us that same line...just replace the word "minutes" with "food"! You got me cracking up @ work :lachen: Love those commercials

Hi EbonyPerez **waving**

I really don't have anything to add, although I would LOVE to see pics of your newly relaxed hair :look: . I loved your hair natural but i'm sure it looks just as lovely relaxed. You have received great advice from the ladies, you will do just fine...and your hair will thrive!
