before?
I was thinking I should do a protein and mositurizing co a week before and a follow up protein treatment 2-3,maybe 4, weeks after I get the texturizer? Any thoughts would be great!
Also, what products should I get for at home styling? My hair is extremely coarse and dry should I do co washes every 2-3 days or not? As you can see I am completely out of it! Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks in advance

It's definately a great idea to do deep treatments several weeks prior to getting any chemical services. I usually alternate between moisturizing treatments (a cheapie product) and deep treatments (i.e. mayonaisse) 2 weeks before my texturizers. Make sure that you keep your hair moisturized (should always do so anyways) and try to detangle your hair as much as possible prior to going to get it done. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T WASH YOUR HAIR 3-4 DAYS PRIOR TO GETTING YOUR TEXTURIZER, YOUR SCALP WILL BURN...LIKE HELL:eek:. However long you choose to wash your hair after your texturizer is up to you, but when you do make sure that you give yourself a good protein treatment or moisturizing treatment for AT LEAST 20 minutes. As for products, it all depends on the individual, what may work for me may not work for you so you may have to experiment (I know, a pain!). THe products that I find works for me are from the Jazma line (only your stylist sell them or you can order them online), Elasta's Mango Butter, Elasta's Recovery creme lotion (excellent), a good styling gel will also help you...go to past threads in reference to texturizing and you will find more suggestions. Good luck and don't forget to take pics and show your results!:)

thanks so much! off to look through texturizer posts....thanks so much!

Your plan sounds good to me :yep: Cond washes will probably be your new best friend for moisture. Try a little coconut oil too.

My staples are Infusium 23 leave-in, coconut & olive oil, Fantasia IC gel with sparkleites and a little LA Looks Mega Mage hold gel #9. If my hair is extra dry I put a little ghee in it and put on a plastic cap before bed and Cond wash it out in the morning.

I'll be updating my album in the next couple of weeks.
