Getting bangs

I am considering getting bangs and maybe some light layering around my face. I have a picture of the style I want and I'll put it in my picturetrail album when I get off of work.

I'm at the point with my hair where I am seeing a good amoutn of progress, but I feel that I am lacking in style. Usually when I get this feeling I cut all my hair off like I did last summer with the Halle flip. But I do not want to ruin all my hard work and I still have the goal of having long hair for my wedding in April. So I am flipping through an old Honey magazine (the one w/ Nia Long on the cover) and inside I see a gorgeous hairstyle (where the beauty questions are) not only that it's got the style from different vantage points (the better to show my stylist). Just wanted my hairfriends to know and weigh in on my decision. Also, does anyone here have bangs and are they easy to care for.

make sure your bangs are a decent length. i had them for three years. sometimes my hairstylist would trim it to short, and i wouldn't get the same effect at home, when i tried to bump them with the curling iron. what's ironic, is i always used my curling iron on my bangs and not the rest of my hair, and my stylist would always comment on how healthy my bangs were. (i read somewhere since becoming a healthy hair addict that, your body seeks balance and because that part of the hair is shorter, more nutrients are pumped to that part of the hair, hence i believe that is why it was so healthy) If you decide to go for them, i'm sure they will look wonderful. I love bangs because i felt it made my forehead seem smaller.

I've sported bangs for years now (off and on), and I'm letting mine grow out, which is a nuisance, because it never fits correctly in a ponytail. But as far as care, they are not hard to care for. The only thing is how you want them to look, which may require you to sleep with a roller in it, because I know you don't want to curl it everyday with a curling iron.

If you wrap it with the rest of your hair at night, it may not have a nice fall in the morning, and may lack bend. You don't want stick straight bangs.
