shortness

New Member
I need to regime.... I am going to the Caribbean. The hair is Milky Way yaki. 12 inches. Any suggestions on how to wash, style, pics?

First time getting a weave, so I have no idea what to do. Thanks!

Hello,

This is what I do (following Crown and Glory Method)
1. Get Weave Sewn-in (no glue or infusion)
2. Spray Braids (under weave) w/ braid spray twice a day
3. Spray w/ diluted Infuisim every few days
4. Use Kemi Oyl or ORS Oil Moisturizer (mostly kemi)almost daily
5. Wash every two weeks and dry under a hooded dryer-get it flat ironed or get a rod set or roller set
6. Take it down in 6-8 weeks and clarify and use Aprogee and deep condition w/ cholestrol
7. Put it up for a few weeks (bun or ponytail).wash and dc weekly
8. Continue the process all over w/ a weave or braids
9. Perm every six months

Hope this helps!!! I know I said alot but it's really helping my hair grow

Thanks for responding.... Does the Kemi Oil "weigh down" your hair? Do you nkow anything about the Milky Way Brand....
I just want to avoid have bigmatted ball on my head while I am away (why I got striaght hair). So conditioner should do the trick, right?

Kemi Oyl doesn't weigh my hair down but I use a thick brand of hair. (lord and cliff);if you're hair is silky don't use too much or the hair will feel greasy

Mily Way is o.k. but it may shed a lot it depends

Stopping it from matting is another thing. You may have find a good serum or leave it to help the hair. Currently I'm trying Let Jam Straightening Cream and so far so good. But it may make silkier hair oily. But it's in an orange tube if you want to try it.

1 more question...
will it necessarily matt if I only have it in for a month?? What makes it matte? will the humidity make it matter???

(i know that was more than 1 question... sorry)

Thanks again

Humidity probably plays a role. I'm in Texas so I deal w/ it all the time.
And yes it will matt in a month. It'll matt w/i a matter of hours. So this is where the quality of the hair plays a role. If you don't want to it matt you have to pay more money. IMO

So it this weave matts, on your next weave you may want to try some brand of Remy hair. I don't use it as of yet but my friend has some by Aurora(think I spelled that wrong) and it's holding up good. NO matting yet!

Remy hair will definitely hold up better, but if you take good care of the BSS hair you can minimize the matting and tangles. Just be sure to wrap it at night and if you go swimming detangle while it's wet with a big comb. It should dry straight from there. I also would reccomend getting a wig brush or one of those hard brushes with the plastic bristles with the little rubber things on the end (like white people use). lol sorry if that offends anybody. But I find that they work out better than combs. I usually keep my BSS weaves in for a month before the hair drives me crazy. The poof factor starts to annoy me. I also wash and condition and air dry every week. I also find that the wavy or curly hair are easier to deal with for me so I don't have to worry about curling the straight hair. HTH...
