ok, guys - this is what i ususally do: air dry my hair (it's past my shoulders) naturally. then i moisturize it, then i run the blowdryer (with pic attached) i order to (1) melt the moisturizer in (2) make my hair more manageable.

and that's the only heat i use 'til my next wash. is that ok? do you forsee problems (i've been doing this for the past 3 months).

let me have it!

Well,

What have you noticed in the last 3 months? My answer to this would be the one that you already know: this is WAY better than fully blow-drying it weekly, but probably not as good as letting it air dry without blow drying.

But I definitely see your point about the manageability. You could be getting an even trade since your hair is smoother and more manageable after blow-drying it rather than trying to manage air-dried hair all week long.

I'm interested to know if you've noticed any damage or breakage since you've been doing this. Might just be a good solution.

I also have good results the times when I air-dry completely then smooth my hair with a curling iron.

Is your hair breaking or damaged? Are you seeing any problems? If not then don't worry about. After doing it for three months if you don't see problems then you most likely won't.

Girl, u've already learnt how to airdry! That 2 me was the hardest part of the no-heat regimen ...

Getting the moisturiser to melt without a blowdryer is no biggie. After u've got it evenly spread thru ur air-dried hair, twist ur hair into a small bun and hold it down with a scrunchie close 2 ur head. Then tie a head scarf over all ur hair for about 30 minutes... ur own body heat will melt the moisturiser and u don't lose any moisture to the blow drier. With this method U'll get lose curls to boot!

I used to do my hair like this all of the time!! It was so much easier than blowdrying wet to dry! When I'd get ready to blowdry, I'd just dampen my hair with my leave-in conditioner and make sure it was slightly damp. I never noticed any damage from this. It was quicker and I felt like I used less heat.

I do that sometimes. I don't let it completely air dry maybe 95%, then Ive used the dryer/attachement like you said. Usually I do it 4th wk post rexlaer.

It does seem to smooth things out. I don't see any harm just keep it under 5 mins. If your hair is completly dry then I'd only do it 1 minute.

Once a week.

I have used the method Mindymouse has used--blowdrying when there still is a little moisture in the hair. But . . . a couple of days ago you posted that your hair was breaking off close to the root. SBJ, I don't know about this blowdrying method when your hair is breaking off.

you're totally right, perfectpeace. i realized it was falling out cuz i "needed" a relaxer. that's my guess anyway. it wasn't falling out before. but i see what oyu mean. i will definitely take what you said into consideration. i guess i won't reall know until i get my touch-up?
