This is why I left a stylist I had been going to for years. She trimmed more than necessary and pressured me to trim more often than I wanted to.
I haven't had a trim since Feb '07. I have shears that I use to dust my ends once in a while.
I agree with previous posts that when your hair is uneven the other hair will eventually catch up. A lot of stylists are preoccupied with their clients having blunt ends.
