what is the crown and glowry method?
Good post! I wanna know too!
Henna! Henna! Henna!
I have very thin hair that that has been growing steadily thanks to MN and healthy hair practices (weekly deep conditions, co-washing, pre-poos). But, despite the roots growing in thicker, it didnt help the rest of my hair that was straggly and even when my hair was wet, I could easily see my scalpand this is 9 weeks post! I was even contemplating going natural. My hair never straightened completely with relaxers anyway, it was always crinkly, which I don't mind since I don't straighten my hair normally. I'm a wash and go kind of person. So after much research (on LHCF of course), I decided to join the henna bandwagon.
I wanted to darken my hair because relaxers have lightened it to a light shade of brown, something I don't particularly care for on myself. The only thing that made me hesitant was the fact that henna dyes your hair red and I really don't like red hair. But, used with indigo it creates varying shades of brown, depending on how much you use.
Last night, I henna'd for the first time and I love it! It messy, gritty, and at times a little scary but I will definetly add this to my weekly regime. I was skeptical at first, even as I was washing it out and deep conditioning afterwards. Even this morning I couldn't tell if it had thickened even though I love the rich brown it had turned and the nice shine. It was still damp from the 5 twists I had put in. But as it dryed, it just kept getting fuller and fuller (in a good way). I didn't even notice, other people did, commenting that my hair looked very healthy. I finally had to go a mirror and was shocked to see my normally straggly hair actually full around my head.
After thinking about it, I'm not sure if it was the henna, the amla oil I used (during and after as a deep conditioner w/ olive oil and Vo5) but my hair has never felt this full and thick.
I still might end up just texlaxing. I actually think that I accidentally underprocessed the back of my head the last time I relaxed and ended up I liking how it came out. This will make my hair even thicker yet still manageable. I can't wait!
