Hello, I just wanted to formally introduce myself!

I have been lurking around on this site for a month now. I read Cathy Howse's book early Nov., and decided to do a search on the web one day to read the reviews of her book.. I just so happened to stumble upon this site, while searching

Before joining my hair was always dry and brittle, causing me to go to the salon every two weeks. I never washed my hair at home because it would be too dry, and all my stylist advised me was to use cremes while blow drying. She new all I needed was a moisturizing conditioner

, she just wanted me to keep coming back.. I haven't been to her since Aug. 2003. (she had a baby)
I decided to give Barry Fletcher's salon a try, and ended up with a hoochie that gave me an awful trim. I haven't been to her since Oct., she gave me a perm that left scabs on my forehead

I found a great stylist through the grace of god that actually cares. Can you believe the name of her salon is Healthy Hair Care... When I went to her in Nov. she actually wasn't about to put a relaxer in hair till I told her that I used the same relaxer that she uses.

Hair History
I have always had fast growing thick hair... Early 2001 I decided to color my hair light blonde. The color didn't cause any damage, I have very tuff hair.... I felt I needed a change and played chemist, ending up completely stripping my hair. I went to my mother's stylist and she cut it all off to about an inch (May '01)... I couldn't wear my hair that short for my own personal reasons (big head

) and decided to wear braids for three months.. Then I colored it again.. My hair has been growing, to my amazement without proper hair care. It could be a lil fuller though

Hopefully with the help of you ladies, I can reach my hair goal of bra strap length...

I've been here for a few months and I love it here and I'm sure you will too. Your hair color is beautiful. This is the color that I want to get, with cute blonde highlights. It's just the cutest.

Oh...and I thought you might like to know that you didn't cover your face in one of your pics. I'm not saying that you have to, but I noticed that the others were and I saw your comments about it in your post. I just thought I'd help out.

Keep up the good work on your hair!
 
dena yo pics are gorgous i love the colour!!now i'm sure u kno that after showing nice pics of yo hair the next thing u have to supply is the regiment lol so pliz post yo regiment!!

I'm the exact same way, I expect immediate results. It's not till recently I've learned to stop thinking about how much my hair is growing everday because it only makes the time seem longer. Instead I now try to focus on hair health.

I really haven't mastered my regimene yet.

Supplements
It's funny but I have been taking hair supplements before I even knew what hair care was. My friend's hair was growing really fast and she suggested that I use Futurebiotics Hair, Skin and Nails (GNC)... I stopped late Aug. due to the harsh skin breakouts. But this supplement worked wonders.

Today
*Hair Energizer
*L-Cysitene (sp?) 2 mg
*B-5, 2 mg
*Biotin, 5 mg
-I plan on cutting down within the next month if I don't see in results. I'm soo impatient.
