As some of yall may know, i was tired of my fro,so i decided to texlax, wich i did the other day (pics soon to come)...love the results, had about 1 1/2 inch cut off in damaged ends so i wound up with about grazing shoulder length healthy hair....she really did a fantastic job...

Now, i i have been dealing with natural hair so much or rather not dealing with my hair, with all the weaving and braiding i have been doing...i forgot how to deal with relaxed tresses..so i need yall to give me some of your pointers ..
I need good hair oils, leave in's ect...what are u relaxed ladies doin to ya heads now adays...i feel like im startimg from scratch again..:perplexed

First of all, congrats!!! I know it was a big decision. Well, for my relaxed hair, I use Qhemets Olive Cream Detangler on my hair. It's great, because it's water-based, which makes a great moisturizer, and it has a lot of olive oil, which my hair loves. I also use Elucence MB Conditioner mixed with EVOO, Nexxus Keraphix, and bottled water. Works amazing!! Keracare Hydrating poo is great, because it's not stripping. My hair isn't loving straight oil these days. Good luck, and congrats!!

Congrats on your decision to texlax- I'm sure your hair looks GREAT!

MY favorite products are:
1- Elasta QP DR11 (deep conditioner- really good- the best)
2- ORS olive oil
3- Elasta QP stimulating scalp shampoo
4- NTM leave in treatment
5- Wild hair grow oil
5- EVOO
6- Sulphur powder mixed w/ favorite oil

*that's it for now... :D HTH

you have to find or remember what works for your relax hair.
I give someone good advice yay for me.

  • I do an aphogee or heavy protein treatment every 8 weeks
  • I wash Bi weekly, then deep co once a week
  • I prepoo with amla plus a night before washing (it strenghtens hair)
  • I baggy my ends daily
  • I oil my scalp at night, put a plastic cap on, then tie with a satin scarf
  • I'm on the GHLW challenge...so i do not comb...just rake hair with fine comb to smoothen edges.
  • Profectiv healthy ends and break free are da bomb! That goes on my hair every day, then i seal with oil.
  • I do a light protein treatment the week before a relaxer. (my relaxer is next week so i'm actually sitting at the computer with a towel turban on my head. On my damp hair, i have applied a mixture of Motions protein reconstructor and Motions CPR on my hair.)

I am happy you are pleased with your hair. I can't wait for pictures! (you know we are a sight based group. lol) We always want to see.

I have so many products that I love and I alternate between I could sit here and type all day. (you can take a peek in the fotki to see some of the products I really enjoy.)

The main keys to me are moisture moisture moisture and avoid Heat. My hair love deep conditioners! I am sure you are going to fall right back in the swing of things. Keep us posted.

Thanx gurls..dunno when i will take some pics..maybe today...yup, I hhave some EVOO in my kitchen, i brought some Organics carrot oil 2day, Castor oil and Sweet Almond oils as well..In will blend up something together...Good suggestions on shampoos and Condtioners too!

Are you guys misting your hair with water? trying to remember if i used to do that..
aviod heat, and moisture...seems to be key..

I'm so happy that your hair came out good!

One thing I use for my hair as I stretch longer and the new growth gets harder to handle is I use the UBH Creme. It has oil in it, and it works really well in keeping my hair moisturized and oiled. HTH! :)

ima see if i can post some pics later on this evening...DDTexlaxed...gurl i dont be playin..I couldnt take that bush anymore..lol
