Hi ya'll! I'm a newbie looking for advice. I currently exercise about 5 days out the week. I find myself having to wash more because of this. As a result, my hair is constantly dry. I currently use the Cantu Shea Leave In but it's just not cutting it! Please suggest some things you use to moisturize. Thanks!

I work 6 days a week. I will often rinse my hair or co-wash 5 days and wash it only 1. any more shampoo than that is drying to the hair. I am currently putting a little conditioner in my hair under my noodlehead curl cream, I want to use it up. I will be moving on to either Giovanni Direct, Khiels Leave IN or NTM Leave In. I have used samples of them all and they are pretty good for the winter for me.

If you need to wash with shampoo more than 1 time a week, you can always prepoo your hair. Leave the prepoo in, place your hair in 4 big loose plaits and target your scalp only with the shampoo. Hopefully by leaving the prepoo on your hair it will keep your hair from drying out while allowing you to clean your scalp.

I workout 5 days a week also plus Im in the desert. I cowash after my workouts with one of Carols Daughter Smoothies and it always leaves my hair super soft and moisturized. After I take it out of the towel Ill apply CD Hair Butter and then seal with Wild Growth and CD Lisas Hair Elixir. Then since I only have time to sleep then go to work Ill smooth some conditioning gel on and wrap in a silk scarf to air dry while i sleep. My hair is doing great to be in the desert and trying to transition. Good luck!:grin:

how many times do you wash? what products do you use? do you deep condition? what shampoo do you use? have you tried cowashing?

Sorry Ladies,

I guess I should have clarified. I do cowash every other day with Aubrey Organic Honey Suckle Rose or with a Jason's conditioner. I only shampoo once a week with AO shampoo. What's a good deep conditioner? BTW I hate that Cantu Shea Leave In. I baggy with it but by midday my hair is dry as a desert! :wallbash:

a few have stated that aubrey shampoo is drying/stripping. Maybe you should try using the hsr as a leave in instead of the cantu. the hsr is a great leave in and i usually use as a leave in after i dc with it. hsr is a good dc, btw. also, do you deep condition after you shampoo? In my opinion, for dry hair it is necessary to dc afer shampoing. hth.

What do you use to prepoo? I need to start using this in my regimen.

I have been cw-ing as well daily and using Cantu Leave-in. Are you sealing with oil after? I really like to seal with EVCO, it makes a big difference.
