Re: For those with \"Halle Berry\" Short Hair

Well, when I cut that short about 3 years ago, I swore by Kera Care Wrap lotion and Kera Care gel (to mold the back), neck strips, Aveda emollient serum, and Aveda brilliant hair spritz (non drying holding spray).... I usually washed and deep conditioned once or twice a week with Kera Care or Aveda products (Revitalizing conditioner, Cherry Almond Bark conditioner, Hair detoxifier shampoo, and the Brilliant shampoo and conditioner). I used one of those long narrow silk scarfs and wrapped around my head, leaving the top open. I relaxed about every 2.5 to 3 months

thanks for your respond, good product recs.

what were the neck strips for?

Re: For those with \"Halle Berry\" Short Hair

I used Ampro Styling Gel (for the back), and small rollers (for sets). I also used something I used to love called Lucky Kentucky as leave in. That stuff used to leave my hair so shiny it wasn't funny! I don't think they make it anymore tho. I also used a lot of Aveda and L'oreal - the Color Vive mostly.

I had a hooded dryer and most of the time I used to just lay my hair back with gel and conditioner and let it dry either naturally or under the dryer and then I'd use a big barrel curling iron to bump it or use rollers to get a really bouncy cute effect.

I used to cut it every 2 months and relax it every month. I used to have the back shaved every 3 weeks or so and I used to perm the edges and back when needed.

I LOVED when my hair was short. It was so easy to maintain. I NEVER had a bad hair day. My hair always looked good. I just can't gain a single pound or I look like a whale.

Re: For those with \"Halle Berry\" Short Hair

Oh sorry! I used the neck strips to wet wrap/mold my hair. After I wrapped it with the foam and used some gel to lay the back flat, I'd take a couple of neck strips and wrap it around my hair to keep the mold smooth, the nape (where the hair was shaved and cut close to scalp) flat and in place as I sat under the drier. I would keep it on for maybe to first half, maybe a little longer until it was maybe 85% to 90% dry, then remove so that it would finish drying. I would sometimes have to break or loosen up the mold so that the air could get to the scalp to finish, but by that time the hair is mostly dry so it will not mess up the wrap.

I agree Traci, short hair was def. a fun time! My hair was always sharp. I'm glad I did it at least once!

Re: For those with \"Halle Berry\" Short Hair

when my hair was in my halle cut i used Paul Mitchell Carrot Conditioner to wrap my hair. This was a secret that the stylist who cut my hair gave me. She said that the conditioner helped to keep the wrap shiny and soft how it shoud be instead of hard and dried out from using the alchohol based wrap products. Y'all i aint braggin or nuthin but that cut was sharp on me

When my hair was cut short, I used the Motions wrap lotion to wrap my hair, and also applied Let's Jam to back where it was shaved along with the wrap lotion and used the neck strips also to keep it flat and mold my wrap. I also wore my hair in a soft wrap alot instead of applying heat.

I used the whole line of Aphogee: shampoo, treatment, reconstructor, leave-in conditioner, balancing moisturizer.

I would deep conditon every week with Lekair Cholesterol.
I loved my short hair cut also, but I'm loving the length I have now.

Re: For those with \"Halle Berry\" Short Hair

Good tips ladies. i like the idea of mixing wrap lotion and conditioner to get shine.

Also how do you get the back short, short without looking shaved. I would like mine shorter at the back but i do not want my scalp to show thru the hair. I am worried that if i tell my stylist shorter he may shave.
