For those who use Pibbs, what heat setting do you use?

I'm just curious as to what heat setting you're using? How long does it take to dry the hair? How many times a week do you set? For those who set on 50 or above, do you find using a higher heat setting is hurting your hair?

I may want to take my setting to 50, but I'm a little nervous about the heat.

You know, I tried once to set my hair on 60 degrees just for a 20 minutes and then dropped the heat back down to 45 degrees. I had so much shedding after this, that I could only attribute it to the shock to my scalp. I used 60 degrees for 10 minutes, then dropped down to 45. At the last 10 minutes I upped it to 60 again. Both times, I could feel the metal clips getting so hot that in areas my scalp felt like it was burning. I had more shedding than usual in the two places I felt the burning. I'd say just stick with the lower heat, because this sucker gets so hot and those metal clips get really hot as a result. I like 45 degrees. I deep cond. on 55 degrees. 50 degrees may not be so bad, but why don't you gradually up the heat and see how your hair responds? Don't do what I did and jump from 45 to 60! LOL! BTW, I set my hair 1-2x per month. HTH

ETA: depending on the rollers used, my hair can take anywhere from 1 hr (plastic mesh) to 1.5 hrs (magnetic) to dry

Are you refering to the Annie brand mesh rollers, or the ones that are actually smooth and hard like magnetic rollers, but with more holes like wire mesh rollers?

how long is everyone sitting under the dryer with those settings?

Normally between 1 hour if using 1 1/2 inch rollers, and 2 hours if using 1 3/4 inch rollers.

The ones that are hard like magnetic. The brand is Exquisite, I believe.
