For those who have or had underprocessed hair

what is the best way to overcome it. I have had a pull through and now the textures are still different but not as drastic as before. I really want to get this overprocessed crap off my head though asap so would cutting it be the better option. I really like my length now but I am considering cutting it off some at the beginning of the summer. Since hair grows faster then I hope I would have regained my length but the end of summer. What do you all think? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I had underprocessed (Motions regular lye) hair and had a corrective relaxer done in December (Mizani). My ends were still a bit fuzzy afterward, but I would dust them from time to time when I saw any split ends or fuzziness. Other than that, I would deep condition after every wash and moisturize my hair extra (twice a day). You will eventually get rid of all your fuzziness.

Well Dionne, I had a pull through too and I still have frizzy ends and poofy hair. Honestly, it doesn't look like mine is going away any time soon. According to Shamboosie, it will take two years in order to grow out no-lye hair. That is if you even have no lye hair. I underprocessed in July 02, I have been conditioning and trimming since. I think I am going to have to totally grow out all of my no-lye hair in order for the frizz to stop.

But even so with each touch up (lye/mild) my hair seems to revert back after a couple of weeks to a curly stage after I shampoo. It was recommended to me to try a regular strength relaxer but I really don't want to go there. So, I opt for the texturized look. Rollersets are the only thing that will make my hair straight and smooth - unless I want to use heat. Seeing that I've been contemplating going natural and/or extending my touch ups for a longer period of time, this seems to work for me.

I too plan on a major cut soon, I am hoping that this will rid me of my frizzy ends. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Best to you. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I used the mizani regular strength. My hair isn't that long so I really think I could lose and inch or two and have it back by the enmd of summer even with trims every month. I really want this underprocessed stuff of my head though so I might get it cut very soon.

I am natural now but in the past I had relaxed hair and sure enough I have had all the various circumstances that come with chemicals.

Suggestion: Did you try just wetting every night and simply doing cornbraids like Laela did in her braid out. This will calm the friz and give you a good style.

I have learn that even very dry and underprocess hair gets super moist the more you wet it. So wet every day and braid. Don't try to style it straight.
