I have come across a few ceramic irons, and of course, the ads make it seem as if theirs is the best since sliced bread and bologna, but in such cases, that's all it is...(a bunch of bologna.) Anyway, I'm considering a purchase pretty soon and would like some feedback on which ones are premium and which ones I should stay away from because they fall into the bologna pile. A few I've placed some interest in are the CHI, HAI, and Babyliss, which are quite expensive, but I can't say if they are worth it in price. I know you get what you pay for on some things, but I'd like to know if any cheaper brands on the market offer the same, if not better results. TIA

You might want to try WIGO flat iron, which is considerably cheaper than the CHI and HAI. I have the CHI, but I went to get my hair done at the salon and the stylist used WIGO and it produced the same results as my CHI. I think it costs anywhere from $49 - $69, either way it's a lot cheaper.

How much are you trying to spend? HAI is only 80 bucks (depending on whick online store you go to) or even 60 or less on ebay.

I have met a hairdresser who uses WIGO and likes it so simone103 is correct in that aspect(that salons use it), but don't be discouraged by prices. You have to shop around.

I haven't tried any of the more expensive brands yet but I am very happy with my Jilbere ceramic flat iron. I have the large one but I have heard some people say the small one is better. However, the small one looks like it would take too long for me to do my hair. With the large one, I could do my whole head of thick, waist-length hair in about 15 - 20 minutes. Now that I've just cut my hair, I anticipate that it will take even less time. I'm sure my iron cost less than $40, maybe even less than $35.

I'm going to second the comments on the Wigo. I've owned mines for about a year and I love it. It does a great job and I don't have to put the setting past 3 and my hair always turns our well. I'm sure it's just as good as the CHI.
