? For Those That Wear Their Own Hair (no Extensions) Twisted

For those of you that wear your own hair (no extensions) twisted, what's the longest you can go without re-doing your twists? Do you shampoo or condition wash your twists during that time? The longest I have gone without re-doing my twists are two weeks. After two weeks, I take them out, shampoo, deep condition and moisturize and get my hair twisted again.

I haven't done mini twists yet, but my mini braids can last 2-3 weeks without getting fuzzy.

@Allandra This last go around was 4wks plus a few days with 1 rinse no shampoo, no conditioner but I hated the dullness and build up on scalp that accumulated (my scalp gets oily quickly that's something to consider as well) I was just lazy and sprayed my ends with water or KKNT mixed with water.
Previously I did a month twist set w/ 2shampoo washes but my hair was a matted mess when it was time to take down. The best time is 3 wks and I vowed this time by no means will they be to small or else dem jokers staying in for the long haul

I have left in twists for 4 weeks before.
I do wash them with a net on, but they would become very tangled at the root.
So now I go 2-3 weeks without washing then take them down wash, protein tx deep condition stretch and re twist.

I cowash and moisturize as needed.

I had success my last set with water rinsing.

Max for me is two weeks. This is because I don't wash them when twisted. I hate the fuzz and shrinkage a wash creates. SO if I actually make it to two weeks without doing a twist out my hair is screaming for a wash and mega deep condition by that point.

This morning, I shampooed, deep conditioned and moisturized my hair this morning. After my appointments, I had my hair twisted. I absolutely love being able to get my hair twisted and keeping it in for two weeks. I usually pull them back and wear them in a curly ponytail, a bun or sometimes I wear them down. I so glad my fiance' loves this style on me as well, and he also loves how convenient it is for me. I plan on doing this for a while.

I started out only keeping them in three weeks then I moved all the way to five weeks. Really though they look best no longer than four weeks. I co-wash after the first week. And then I usually spritz or water rinse and moisture with a shea butter mix daily to every other day. It takes me 7+ hours to do them so I like to keep them in as long as possible.
