I want to have a low-mani regimen, but i feel that it's hard with the 2x a wk that I cowash. During those sessions, I do A LOT, including prepooing, DCing, and using the Denman Brush, per "Teri's Method".

I'm wondering if this is why I'm not retaining length?? :look:

I was STALKING :lachen: Sylver2's fotki and i noticed that she only "works" her hair about every 2 wks, and pretty much leaving it alone afterwards. She obviously has had a lot of success with what she does! :yep:

I'm thinking about doing this, but will my curls suffer??

I made a promise to not use ANY HEAT AT ALL until I get past BSL (This is the length I have been stuck at for yEARS....I NEED to get over this hurdle).....so how can I use her methods while wearing my hair curly??

Usually I have to cowash every couple of days....and I'm wondering if my hair will dry out if i don't??

I hope I make sense....if I don't please let me know! :lachen:

WOW at BSL sounds like you are retaining length. But from experience less is more when it comes to hair care. Try stopping all the manipulation of your hair and go with the KISS routine. See what happens. I did that for a year and definitely kept all the hair I grew.

Hi! Thanks for responding! My hair was longer as a child, but since i have been a TEENAGER my hair has been at BSL!! :look: Trust me! i'm not retaining at ALL!

I will def try KISS...I have tried so many things including different vitamins and my hair is still stuck, so it must be something else that Im not doing to my hair....BTW your hair is very thick and purty! :yep:

Do you wear your hair out everyday? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause your ends to break off and stall your retention.

True. I forgot to ask & add that when I did the KISS routine I did the bun tuck everyday and really didn't manipulate my hair at all accept for the detangling I did weekly (conditioner detangling). No heat. My hair isn't down my back cuz I cut 2"-3" every year.:wallbash:

Thank you for the sweet comment! I feel I am blessed  --TQ

I would suggest you stop cowashing and see how you like it. All naturals don't co wash. I tried it and wasn't impressed. I didn't see it helping my hair plus it was a big inconvenience. I wash and DC once a week. I did the same thing when I was relaxed. I'm so used to that routine now that once I get close to the end of the week my hair gets itchy. It works for me.

Yeah, I do....
:look:

I just hate buns, because my head is kinda big :lachen: so I feel they don't look right on me...

Guess I need to stop playing...

I am trying this! Thanks!

i have the lowest manipulation and simplest regimen ever. i co wash everyday, apply cholesterol as a styler and moisturizer and protein when needed and i think i have retained alot of length.
