Do you use some kind of holding spray along w/gel or spritz to have the style hold longer? I want to try this style but i am not sure what people use to keep the style held together.

When I used to visit a stylist she would use organic beeswax. It gave a great hold, but since visiting this forum I have learnt that it contains petroleum and mineral oil! If you can find a beeswax that does not contain these ingredients it would be ideal!

I suppose if you use shea butter on damp hair it, which I do when 2-strand twisting, it will give hold but the coils will loosen up. Using a holding spray might help or even a homemade gel using linseed (*Motown Girl), should give good results.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. now what part of the comb do you use? I have used the rat tail end of the comb, and then slide the comb out and that makes the curls for me perfectly. But i was looking at another website that showed the curls being done by the teeth of the comb. I totally did not see how that would work well w/out ripping the hair.
