How much are you adding?
What results have you seen?

I have a bottle of jbco and would like to use it. So far I use it on my edges and it keeps them nice and supple. I've tried to oil my scalp w/ it, but inevitable it's way too heavy. Maybe I can try applying less to my scalp, we'll see. It might be a good idea ot add it to my conditioners tho.

On average I use about 2-3 shot glasses worth of conditioner each time I DC. To that I add about a tablespoon of JBCO. I add other oils too though. If I didn't I'd probably add more JBCO. I aim for a 50/50 mix of oil to conditioner.

I tend to be pretty heavy handed, so I'd guesstimate I'm adding about a 1/2 shot glass of castor oil for every shot glass full of conditioner (thanks LaidBak for lending me your descriptor lol).

I love super thick big hair, so even though my hair has medium-thickness, I add castor oil to increase the thickness even further. I've definitely noticed some improvement in thickness since June (when I started my LHHJ).

I don't use a lot of oil at all, just a small capful (which is a mix of other oils) which sits under my DC as too much will weigh my hair down. I've only started consistently doing this for the past few weeks, so not long enough to report of any thickening results but my hair always feels so soft after.

This exactly how I do it...

I Never thought about Adding Castor Oil,:look: but I was planning on adding some "Ceramide Rich" Oils to my DC'ers this Fall/Winter.

I was going to use

Wheat Germ
Kukui Nut
*one another Poster sent me that is a blend of Ceramides*

I have these on Hand and want to use them up.

Will be watching this Thread!:yep:

Thanks ladies !
I'm prob going to try add a tblspn tops this weekned to my deep conditioner. Castor oil is quite thick and can be hard to wash out, so I def don't want to overdo it.

OP: I've tried a number of different oils and find ceramides (wgo and hemp) work best in DC and jbco works best for massaging into the scalp throughout the week for thickening results....just my limited experience.

I like ceramide oils as well (prefer sunflower) but EVOO is the absolute bomb when it comes to softening hair. Its the one oil I will NEVER stop adding to my DCs.

I love mixing evoo & wgo in a prepoo to finger detangle and braid the hair before pooing. Evoo by itself was doing good, or so I thought, until I got ceramides in my life...now, I'm a ceramide addict. I have safflower in my stash although I haven't tried it. Next on the list is sunflower and rice bran. I need rehab.

I too have jbco. I add 2 tsp to my dc tx. My hair is so soft, LOVE IT! Also, to use it to oil your scalp, try mixing it with jojoba oil. I will usually mix about 1-2 tsp with 2 tbls of jbco. That seems to thin it out to my liking. hth!:yep:

I add about 2 TBS to my DC, but I mainly use it in my prepoo oil mix. I add 1 Tbs of JBCO, CO and cinnamon oil. It has a slight tingle and I have waaaay less shedding the last few shampoos since starting this.

has anyone tried JBCO and wheat germ oil together in their DC? I was thinking about trying that on my next wash.

Do you find castor oil hard to wash out??

So I decided to use just a regular sized spoonful of castor oil added to my deep conditioner and there is no way I'd use any more than that. I can see how it will have a tendency to be hard to wash out.

co-signing.. i use hempseed oil or wheat germ when I deep condition and jbco every now & then for scalp massage.

How were your results?

My hair strands are thicker and stronger in my crown area, and in the back. But its hard for me to say that this is solely due to JBCO in my DC. I've been using internal growth aides, protein conditioners, and ayurvedic stuff too.
