I just got a bad dose of comedone acne due to using coconut oil daily on my hair for a few months. Thank God, I made the connection after reading LHCF or else those bumps could have become more inflammed and embedded.

Anyhow for women who cannot use any oil or heavy oils on their hair, what are your leave in and moisturiser alternatives?

If you have oily skin/scalp you shouldn't use any kind of oil daily coz your sebaceous glands produce all the oil you need on their own. I know people with super oily skin/hair who don't use any oil on their hair at all. Oil in hair is optional. If you like oils and want to use them, then use them as a pre-shampoo treatment. Some light weight, absorbant oils include almond, grape seed, and sunflower. But note that oil is only going to absorb if your scalp/hair needs it. Otherwise it will sit on top of your skin/hair and you'll have the breakouts which you described. If you used a lot of oil, then that might explain your problem and you might not have the breakouts if you use very small amounts, i.e. just a few drops. If even small amounts of oil cause breakouts for you then use an oil free moisturizer and skip the oils altogether.

I don't use any leave-in unless I need to comb my hair when I may need slip. Baggying seems to infuse my hair will the moisture I need. Moisture that my hair receives from conditioning and sebum that my scalp produces. My hair is so soft and not dry at all.

If I need to comb it--which I don't usually coz I'm in twists 24/7--then I will use S Curl on the hair only. I only apply it on wash day. Shrinkage from S Curl keeps my hair away from my skin. And I baggy at night so I can contain the moisturizer a-top my head and away from my face. Hair stays soft and face stays clear.

I also love the clean feeling of not having oodles of gunk on my hair.

a thin conditioner diluted with water in a spray bottle

jojoba oil, its the closest to sebum and one of the lightes

I only put oils on my ends unless its a prepoo or massage then wash out

Thanks, I had a college friend who put conditioner in a bottle as a leave in. I will definitely go back to this and not do the sealing everyday.
