Is it just me or did FNWL raise their henna prices? Now one pound is $12.50? I haven't bought anything from them but I was really looking forward to buying a five pound bag of henna for $29.95

I thought it was just me - a pound did used to be 8.50, didn't it? *sigh* Times is tight for errybody!

I was about to buy some from them, the store I used to go to locally closed. I tried to call another indian store and the number is disconnected. :perplexed This economy has got to get better soon.

Libra, why don't you try going to an Indian store and buying the henna that way? I had to venture out into the unknown LOL I'm used to Bodegas and 7 - 11's LOL I now buy henna for about $1.99 a box/bag. I get Amla for about the same price. Its crazy what some of these online vendors sell their products for.

I really wish I could do that. I'm in Ithaca, Ny for college, and it is about the whitest small town I've ever been in. When I went back home to MS for winter break I called the few Indian shops we have, and none of them carried it :nono:

Wow, that's surprising! In Detroit, the first Desi (South Asian) store I bought the powders from went out of business. I tried another one near my college and got Vatika and some crappy henna I ended up not using. I ventured over to Hamtramck and hit up the Bengali stores.

One guy said it was mostly the older Desi women who use the powders, so I could see them not being sold, but henna is still very popular. Hmm...

I wish the stores here sold them in larger quantities or I would be able to help you. They only have the small packets.
