I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong.
I tried this crap this morning, and i damn near threw up. I took it and was going to brush my teeth right after b/c i heard that it was nasty as all outdoors. Well, that is true. I had to brush my teeth TWICE and the taste is STILL in my mouth. I was also gagging and dry heaving as i was brushing my teeth. NEVER again will i take that crap. I will try the pills next month, but that is 9 dollars down the drain:lachen:

The pills work wonderfully!

Yeah I remember those flaxseed days and I would pinch my nose and swallow each time and chase it down with orange juice while my nose was still being pinched. People describe the taste as being a nutty flavor but I never got that impression. It worked wonders though but I've fallen in love with my lemon flavored fish oils from Nordic Naturals which gives me the same benefits and I only need 2 a day. If you can brave it out so that you can finish the bottle, see if you can try a little while chasing it down with something thick and acidic like OJ.

I read in SouthernTease's blog, that she took hers in a shot glass, with orange juice mixed in. That seems like the only possible way that it could possibly be taken in without the gag reflex. I think she also had a flavored one at that. I'm purchasing some today.

No need to waste your your $9 bucks. Put a tablespoon in your juices or protein shakes. That way you won't taste it but still get the benefits.

I feel you. I couldn't stand the oil either, even mixed with juice. For some reason the oil I was using started giving me stomach cramps, in addition to the nasty taste.

So now I just mix the actually ground flax seed with my morning oatmeal, protein shake, or apple sauce. I like it better that way.

ETA: The ground flax seed is also cheaper than the oil

Forget the oil, get the ground flax itself. It taste nutty or like cereal. You can put it in your oatmeal, yogurt or eat it straight like I do, chasing it with juice (This way does make it stick to your teeth). Alternatively, you can get Anutra (chia) from whole foods. It has more good stuff than flax, and has no taste at all. You can mix it in salads or drinks.

I never tried the oil, it sounded a little too gross for me. But, I bought the seeds at a 'Woman's Show' this year. I ground the flax seeds in a coffee grinder and sprinkle it on everything. There is no taste, or at least I don't taste anything. :yep: However, I learned the hard way that taking too much flax is not a good idea! :yep:

I just read the many benefits of flaxseed oil and this stuff is a win-win! I'm going to pick some seeds up today. I can't wait!!

Yep i do what some of the other ladies suggested. Buy the actual flaxSEEDs and just sprinkle them on a fruit salad or on some cereal. Or again an easier option is just to take the capsules.

The benefits of flaxseed are too great to miss... Jut try an other alternative.

I take the capsules but give the oil to DD in a shot of juice (about 1 oz.). She takes the swallow down quickly.

Re: the bolded--what happens when you take too much flax?

I've been taking Flaxeed Oil only for a few days, not seen any noticeable benefits as yet to my hair but my skin is radiant - and I haven't adjusted my skin care regime at all.

The oil tastes absolutely vile, but I just follow the dosage with a few mouthfuls of a drink and the bad taste is soon gone. I paid £10 for that bottle, it will get used up....

I co-sign on the barleans omega swirl it is the best. Also try getting whole flaxseed and a grinder and mix it in your oatmeal or creme of wheat or take it straight with a warm drink like tea or hot chocolate, thats what I do.

BTW I get my flaxseed from whole foods and I just got a new grinder by Proctor Silex for $10 and it grinds the seeds to a fine powder it is the best:yep:

I tried the capsules for a few months...noticed no difference. But the liquid flax worked right away for me. I mix mine with a natural juice; V8 Fusion and my daily liquid multi. Cant even taste it.

I have a big bottle of flaxseed oil in my fridge, and I was talking 2 tbsp. a day, and it gave me really bad gas. I think it was too much to begin with. I don't mind the taste, but I think I'll start with a tsp. and then work my way up to 1-2 tbsp. per day.

I mixed mine in juice or if I don't feel like doing that, I pinch my nose and swallow it, then I follow it by a big gulp of juice.
