Flaxseed Gel, Marshmallow Root and/or Slippery Elm

Which is better? Are they similar? Is it worth investing in all three?

Flax gel will be the most cost effective. When soaked or gently boiled in water they all produce mucilage ( snot like slippery stuff, lol). I use flax gel in my henna and it helps the henna easily rinse out. I have used all 3 and my fav is the flax

Out of all three of them, which one has the better hold and/or provides better definition. I've only used flaxseed; which I love, but I've always been interested in trying the others.

I mix the flaxseed and marshmallow when I soak them overnight. The flaxseed provides the hold but the marshmallow root provides more slip. flaxseed alone doesn't give my hair any slip.

I don't fool with slippery elm because I think its messier than the other two but I've only had it in powder form.
