I was watching this Youtube video today

and she explains what to look for in a flatiron and when you'll know when its time to buy a new one

I have a CHI that I got back in 2008 and I'm afraid to even look at the plates LOL because if they are scratched then I know its time to cough up another $100-$150 for a new one :nono: but at the same time I don't want a setback.

I'm cringing now because I had a $25 Revlon flatiron that has scratched up metal plates... I gave it to my DD! Now I gotta warn her LOL I don't think she uses it though. She's too busy coming over my house to have me do her hair.

Just wanted to share with you ladies!
