Hello lovely Ladies,
I new and still trying to find my way with this hair thing. Hair has been the love of my life since before time but, i ve to keep it healthy. Now that ive started to make it happen by extending a relaxer, and washing more iam getting confused.
I mostly wear ponytails and try to apply the baggie method, but my hair out side of the ponytail looks a hot mess :look: . So iam wondering would it be alright to flat iron my hair at least two times a week? Or if anyone knows a way to flaten the hair without so much damage please, please, please, help me.

Thanks :(

You can just limit the flatiron use to flatten only after a wash and condition and then wrap your hair every night.

I could not flat iron twice a week with all of the moisturizing I do everyday. The heat mixed with the product just makes for a smoky, burning, unsafe mess.

If I wash, I flat iron and that's it, but I have to tie my hair down most nights to maintain it.

its always best to try to limit heat use (from what i understand) is there anything you can use - like a styling cream, mousse or gel to slick back the sides nicely? i have a lot of thick, curly hair and i thought there was NOTHING i could do to make the sides look neat, so i walked around looking like "aint kizzy" with crazy, sticky up & out hair. thank goodness someone introduced me to the power of a little water, some natural shea butter and a good, boar bristle brush. Now I can control my sides with that. or a creamy conditioner & water. or styling cream/paste/wax and a little water. its all about something to hold it down, mixed with water and a good brush to get it back!

I agree that there has got to be a better way to slick down your hair outside of flat ironing at least twice a week. I def. wouldn't flat iron un-clean hair.

For me, I slick my hair by generously applying some EQP Mango Butter and then tying my hair down with a silk scarf for at least 15 minutes. Works like a charm!
