Flat Ironing Roots?

I've been doing this the last few weeks to the root hair that shows at my part. Just doing that little part makes a big difference in the appearance of my hair.

As far as tips, I'd say make sure the iron is pretty hot and that you pull the new growth taut before you put the iron on it. Also, get the iron as close to the scalp as you can stand.

Have fun. :)

When I went to the Dominican salon the first time, she used the barrel of a curling iron instead of a flat iron (after she had roller set it), and she never opened the barrel, but just used Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum on the roots (as a heat protectant) and pulled the hair taught and I tell you, it got my hair pretty straight! She kept saying my new growth was "fuzzy", but what she was seeing was new hairs that were coming in that were an inch or two long.

I have used my Maxiglide for the purpose of flat ironing my roots only but still haven't perfected it. I usually end up hitting parts of my head and missing the other parts to where it's just flat enough to bun it..

Good Luck on the stretch!

Thanks ladies! I'm stretching but didn't really intend to. Can't make it to the salon until 4/4 !!
