Now that I'm trying to flat iron my hair it seems as though it's not really taking. When I'm done it's pretty straight, I have 3C 4A hair. However about 10 minutes later it looks weird like it's trying to frizz. I'm using a serum like John Frieda but I am lost. Any thoughts.....maybe an old school curling wax......I will clarify later to get it out.

IME, the best straightening results are derived from using an ultra moisturizing DC, as opposed to a specific heat protectant. An increased moisture level also helps my hair resist reversion.

I totally agree with PJaye. My wash day for flat ironing is completely different b/c I up my moisture. My last flat iron lasted two week and the heat protector I used was by Agadir. The key to it lasting was the pre-pooing, dcing, steaming, etc I did to prep

I believe so. It gets pin straight with one pass but about 10 minutes later it looks a little wavy......could it be the humidity in my home?

Yup that could definitely be frizzing it...

But as someone else said be sure your hair is well moisturized prior to ironing.
And I think you should go fairly light on product
