I know! I can't stand it bone straight. I prefer it like thisAyeshia said:Oh and your siggy pics are gorgeous...actually I like how your hair straightened. One thing I am not looking to do is have bone straight hair. just the ends are annoying. I would prefer it to havesome puff to it rahter than glued to my scalp![]()
Anyone with ideas for
A) how to 4a/b hair from natural fro to bone straight so it has SWAANG!
B) What styles to do with hair that is "in between" - ie. look like a silky blowout.
Just had a big fat failed flatiron attempt too!!!!!!!!!! It came out looking like the biggest blowout you've ever seen. The ironic part was that it was so so so buttery soft- like a giant pillow of fluff! SOOO great to touch... but it looked awkward! I don't know what happened! It was reverting as I was ironing it!
I blowdried it on LOW using the Andis ionic.
Then, I used:
maxiglide
beyond straight
the end
The maxiglide was on 6 the whole time... but the ends weren't bone. straight. In fact, the whole time, I never managed to get the hair bone straight
Worst of all, I don't know what to do with it now!!! We tried everything - roller setting it, silk wrapping it, braiding it.... Nothing looked good. IT's too straight to do a nice braid-out, too puffy to look like anything other than a giant silky fro...

There's your culprit. No disrespect to you or anyone else on th board who may use this brand, but from my experience, Hot Tools is not going to give you the heat you need to straighten well. In my pre- Chi ceramic flat iron days, I had one of these, too. My hair was always puffy. It never laid like I wanted it to or got bone straight like it does with a Chi.
It also helps if you have a nice protectant/frizz serum before flat ironing. I've used Chi Silk, Loreal Smooth Intense, and Loreal Nature's Therapy Heat Control.
thanks for this! This will definitely come in handy when I take my braids out after being 6 months post in August.I found the link to the comb chase method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwpZmTFLv6g&feature=related
