This girl tried to yank my brain through my scalp!!! I repeatedly asked her to do them looser, but she said she didn't know how! I'm currently trying to do the Crown and Glory Method, but will this excess tightness ruin my hair for good? What should I do to make things better? I'm freak'n out ladies, I need your help and support!

The only thing I can think of is wetting your hair to loosen the braids a bit. I'm not sure how well this will work but everytime I wash my braids they slip a little.

If you're getting little lumps on your head from the tension, that's a different story; I personally would take out the extra tight ones and redo them.

ITA. if you get those little lumps or tiny bumps at the base of the braids, they are too tight. if your braider can't do them looser, i'd look into finding a new braider...

ITA. If they are too tight you need to take them out. I know you may not want to forfeit the money you spent on them but if they're too tight they could pull your hair up. Have you tried oil or braid spray on your scalp? Or maybe even conditioner. If you wash them, they should loosen up some.

once your hair starts to grow it will be okay... for this time just choke it up to a learning experience. Don't go back to this braider, she does not respect your wishes. One time tight braids won't do too much damage but if is more than once your will see the effects. I would consider taking them out but the posters above have had some other options so just try and see what works
