Hello all, I've been lurking for awhile, but decided to get over my fear and post. My fear has nothing to do with the wonderful ladies here, it's just me. I have had a BP page for three years with nothing on it!

Well, about me: My last relaxer was in May 2001. I transitioned for 3 years straight with weaves, which initially was not my intention. I have perm. color with highlights, so my major concern is keeping my hair on my head.
Check out my photos----disclaimer: don't have high hopes going into my album and you will not be disappointed. I cannot compete with the beautiful heads of hair that reside here. Thanks.

Gurl, that's some pretty hair.....

what are you talkin bout? lol.

Very nice!:) Thanks for sharing pics!

You're hair is so pretty. Great curls and I love the color too. But I know what you mean about all the beautiful heads of hair here. I am very inspired by so many people on this forum. Anyway, you have gorgeous hair yourself! HHG!

Welcome to the forum!!

What do you mean you cannot compete with the beautiful heads of hair here

What she said...Your hair looks GREAT! I love the wave formation and the thickness.

Thanks so much ladies for all the kind words. You all are so sweet!
Your compliments mean a lot to me, since all you women who posted in here have great hair yourselves.
I'll answer the questions now.

1. Shatani, I'm fully natural. I had all my relaxed ends cut off in the summer of 2003.

2. Brownshugaz, as for as my regimen, I try to keep it simple.
Since it is warmer out, I CW daily in the morning. For my CWs, I rotate Suave conditioners, DDTA and my beloved AO Honeysuckle Rose conditioner. I usaully use Suave Awapuhi or Elucence MB conditioner as a leave in, but I went crazy at Bath & Body Works semi-annual sale. I could not pass up conditioners marked down 75% (I'm a major PJ!). So in my June pics, I used their Botanical Nutrients' Aloe & Myrrh Leave-In Conditioner. I really like it....after my hair dries (I know they gave myrrh to Jesus...but the scent drives me crazy when my hair is wet.). If I want my hairline extra smooth, I will use Smooth N' Shine Curl Activator Gel. I wash one a week with my Elucence MB shampoo. Due to the color, I try to do a protein treatment once a week with Keraphix or AO Swimming Conditioner (vegan alternative to GPB).

I wear the same style everyday (as shown in the pics). So my goal is to branch out while trying to grow out my layers. I thought I might try my first rollerset sometime this week. I am trying to pace myself with the pics---so maybe I will post my rollerset pics next month. Thanks again ladies!

P.S.
CBS, my hair wants to be like your hair, when it goes to big kids' school!

your hair looks great! It's beautiful and that color is nice. Did you do it yourself? You mentioned that you wore weaves for 3 years while transitioning. I'm trying to do the same thing, although i've just started. My last relaxer was 3/05. I currently have a weave and I'm thinking about just wearing weaves. Did you take breaks from the weave every now and then or did you constantly have a weave in. I'm thinking of doing the same but i'm not sure, you have any tips and or suggestions? I get bored very easily with my hair, i'm afraid that I won't be able to wear weaves constantly. :)
