Fine haired ladies: Spray or serum heat protectant?

i used to be stuck on serums, but recently I pulled out Silk Elements Olive Heat Protection Spray out of my former PJ box. I used it to iron my roots and edges after a rollerset, and it worked really well. gave lots of shine. so i could recommend it, just make sure to use it sparingly or it'll weigh the hair down.
