Finally found some staples...my bun never looked better

After several weeks of trial and error I finally found some products that work for me. I tried several ideas on this board such as the Jamaican Black Castor Oil (my auntie had some from backayard so I got this free), Elasta QP Mango Butter (my ends stayed dry and rough) so I was getting a little discouraged. Well yesterday I went to the BSS and decided to try Profectiv Healthy Ends and the Break-Free. I also picked up some Scurl and Elasta DPR-11.

The Profectiv is wonderful, I love the way the Scurl helped my new growth and moisturized my ends. I sealed with the Healthy Ends and my bun looked so good. I am sold on Profectiv and Scurl.....I think my hair journey is gonna be a little easier now.

Good luck Sheba! Finding what works for you is turly a "trial and error" process, but please be preapred to REVISIT products.

I used to loved Scurl when I first started my journey - and now- it is on my "so-so" list. I think my hair just needs different things at different times- but I don't plan to give away my products yet.

I actually hope to pick up some s-curl today. The only product that's moisturized my hair well so far, was "African Pride Creme Hair Dress w/ olive oil & rosemary". I got it a few years ago, and now can't find it anywhere.

For my ends, I'm waiting to see how raw shea butter mixed w/ olive oil works for me.

Great post. I see ORS products everywhere but no African Pride products. I do remember using African pride relaxer under my braids and my hair didn't jump out...as it should. I had forgotten about that, it was about a year ago.

I am having a hard time trying to figure out what type of relaxer to use. Lye / No Lye - What brand, etc.

I'm going to try S-curl, I need mositure. I bought a Profective relaxer kit tha had some good samples of their products in there, break free, and grow long, they seem pretty good. I'm afraid however to use the relaxer because ya'll scared me! LOL

Exactly CurliDiva....sometimes you hair needs different things at different times. I thought that something was wrong with my hair......Mango butter just didn't do a thing for my mane at all! My ends were dry like straw, so I guess as I go along I will find more things that won't work and those that will.....I just hope I don't turn into a product junky too soon

I love profective healthy ends and Scurl...good choices sheba...good choices do you seal with any oils because you can use the profective healthy ends then apply an oil to seal I love kemi oyl. The best way for me to use elasta Qp mango butter is to apply to my ends and seal with kemi oyl and then apply my baggie and when I take the baggie off..my hair is very moisturized. I rotate between profective healthy ends and elasta Qp mango butter and I always seal with kemi oyl and baggie and my ends always comes out moisturized...try the mango butter that way and see how it works

I love both s-curl and profectiv healthy ends. The s-curl has been a lifesaver in helping me stretch, and this is my second time using the profectiv for healthy ends. I just bought some last week and I am enjoying it much better this time around. (wasn't too happy when i first tried it a year ago.) I am going to take the advice posted here and seal the profectiv healthy ends with some oil as well. That's a really good tip.

The same thing with me. I didnt like the profectiv the first time I used them. I might revisit it.

Profectiv is da bomb...I use Break free mixed with healthy ends then seal with WGHO and my hair always feels nicely moisturised...

Only disadvantage is that i seem to use up a jar a week.

Yea I used up my bottle of Profective healthy ends so fast because it worked super well on my hair, especially with protective styles like buns. I don't know why i didn't refill it...

And i need to hop on the S-curl bandwagon, i've never given it a try but I'm sure it could really help when my newgrowth comes and gets super dry...
