Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than DB MC

Why? because the reconstructor has all of the moisturizing ingredients that are in the MC & it leaves the hair feeling stronger and more elastic. And lastly, the reconstructor gives way better slip than the MC & at a certain length slip is non-negotiable.

So you ladies that are thinking about trying DB, I say try the reconstructor before the MC. If you have tried the MC & weren't all that impressed with it, try the reconstructor. The two can also be mixed (info. per my hair stylist)

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than MC

What is "the MC?" I am confused. Are you referring to any moisturizing considtioner or a specific one?

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than MC

Yeah, I'll change the title--maybe that'll help

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than MC

I have the DB reconstructor in my hair now. Today is the first time I have used DB and I am loving the Hydrating shampoo. I could comb thru my hair after lightly towel drying and before applying the reconstructor. I used Selah's tangle buster formula before shampooing and since my hair was already parted down the center I parted it again so that it was in 4 sections. Then I applied the reconstructor to each section to be sure it was distributed evenly.
I am 4A/B and my last retouch was September 26, 2003. I believe DB will be a keeper for me. Oops, my 20 min under the dryer are over. Time to rinse. (I rarely use a dryer for anything, but thought I would do so today to give the reconstructor extra POW).

It sounds similar to Affirm 5 in 1.

Not hardly. I used the 5 n 1 today and it left my hard uncombable. DB is definatley better in my book.

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than DB MC

Thanks for the information Supergirl. I plan on trying the DB line one of these days (not any time soon though). The MC and the Reconstructor sound good.

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than DB MC

SG,

What kind of protein does the DB Reconstructor have in it? Is it safe for frequent use? since you are the protein guru, I thought Id ask before buying these products.

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than DB

It is absolutely safe for frequent use

--it has wheat protein, rice protein, milk protein, silk protein, and jojoba amino acids--no hard core proteins at all--most of these are very moisturizing

Thanx SG...on my way to JC Penney...

Well...perhaps I'll wait until the morning when they open...

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than DB

Go girl Go girl! I must tell you that the conditioner works it's wonder best when used with the Hydration shampoo. I also recommend the leave-in, but I wouldn't say it's mandatory

Re: Final Answer: DB Reconstructor better than MC

Supergirl,
I really like the way my hair felt after using the DB shampoo, reconstructor, and leave-in (Manage) and it was so easy to comb. My new growth was looser and my hair overall felt softer. I plan to use the DB reconstructor weekly for a while. I am considering transitioning. I like the feel of my new growth. It has been 20 weeks since my last retouch.
