With Love & Silk
As a PJ, I have learned that different conditioners will work differently on different heads of hair.
I've learned that the same conditioner can work differently on different heads of hair AND
The same conditioner can be different on the same head of hair (this is what we call inconsistent results)
Some conditioners will give you the same results over and over and over...again no matter what, but for those that don't, I've kind of discovered the different factors (or a combination of these) that can cause different results
*product(s) that you used before the conditioner (type of shampoo, no shampoo, pre-shampoo, clarifying, etc.)
*how wet your hair is when you apply the conditioner
example: I must leave my hair substantially wet when using Kenra MC or I won't get any slip
*how long you leave the conditioner in
example: can't leave DB moisture in for too long or results are less than favorable
*whether or not you use heat with the conditioner, or a plastic cap
example: DB reconstructor performs much better on me without heat even though the directions say it can be used with heat as an option
*how much of the conditioner you use
example: doesn't take much DB at all, in fact the results are not good when I use alot. This might answer why you don't get much of it
*whether or not you comb the conditioner through (some conditioners do great with this, others don't)
Hope this helps someone. Can you think of any other factors that affect how well your conditioner works?
