Has anybody purchased this flatiron from ebay? I seen it for under $200 on ebay and every other website from $350-$400. I wonder if the ebay ones are fake?

I havent but ebay is a good place to get a good deal! You can send a message to the seller to confirm it is authentic. Also make sure you pay with a credit card and not out of your paypal balance or checking account...that way u can always do a chargeback if u get ripped off. Check the persons feedback, etc and u will get a pretty good idea of whether they are legit. If the seller isnt legit, they wont last long on ebay.

Thanks for the information. I noticed the seller got over 300 good reviews and about 10 good ones on the FHI Runway.

folica.com is having a vote for about half off on sedu chi and other ceramic iron check out there site.

I just purchased a FHI Runway off of ebay for 188.00. The seller was marywrap1. She had 99.7% positive reviews out of 300 sales. Mine was shipped via fed ex and I got it in about 3 days. I like it so far, but I did notice that it does not have one of those red button safety things on the cord....it's just a regular plug. That seemed a little odd because all of the other flatirons that I own (even the cheap ones) have the safety button.

I hope it's not a fake, but I was just sitting here thinking that if it was, I would't know the difference. I like how it works (gets my hair straight and makes it soft). But, I've never used a real one so i've got nothing to compare it to. I'm gonna call FHI, ask if there is a way to identify an authentic one, and ask about the cord too. I'll let you know.

I promise I'm gonna charge that think to my credit card and worry about paying it off later!!!!! :lick:

I have bought 2 FHI's from ebay sellers, and so far they have all been real. So go with someone with good feedback. Most of the FHI runways have a good return policys from the ebay sellers as well, so I would say go for it.

I own an FHI runway that I bout directly from the FHI distributors. The $188 price is the same price they offer to hairstylist so don't worry about it being too inexpensive. They are making there profit.

The cord on mine is all black with no safety red button or anything like that. I would say just make sure the ceramic is a plate not a coating and that it is white and very thick. Make sure it clicks like 2 ceramic dinner plates are clicking together. It's probably just a distributor making so cash on Ebay. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Thanks for the info. That's how the cord was on my digital chi nano that I returned because it snagged my hair.

Thanks for clearing up the cord issue....I was getting worried. It's good to know that its being distributed to hairstylists too for the $188 price....seems less likely that it could be fake. :look:

Does yours have a handwritten date on the inside? I saw that on the FHI website about the warranty.
