I would like to purchase a flat iron but not sure which is probably better. Any recommendations? Also where can I get one for the low low?

I've owned both. Both great irons in my opinion. If I had to choose tho I'd stick with my FHI

I've had two CHI flat irons over the past decade and my last one has a few scratches on the plates, exposing metal underneath and snagging my hair now.

I've gone heat free this summer doing braidouts but researching for a new flat iron to buy for autumn/winter.

I'm relaxed but usually do long stretches of 4-9 months so I need a product that can handle 4a and 4b regrowth. I've enjoyed the way my CHI doesn't straighten my hair too flat and leaves me with bounce but it has no temperature adjustment at all.

Not sure whether to stick with the brand I know or try the FHI. Has anyone used both who can help,me decide?

ETA. Just read the above posts properly,,will look into where to buy FHI in the UK

FHI, without a doubt. I've been having the same one for like 6 or 7 years and still going strong. No chipping or overheating or burning my hair.

About two years ago, I got a free GVP iron from Sally's (which is a knock off CHI) and decided to use it. Nope. :nono: My hair didn't really glide through the plates, and my ends looked a mess, even though my FHI gets them perfectly smooth. Damn thing also heat damaged my two daughter's hair. :hardslap:

So yeah, go with FHI.

ETA: I have the 207 RVI model Got it for 69 bucks all those years ago. :yep:

Same deal here. Love my FHI.

I had a CHI. Hated it. My hair went POOF 30 minutes after straightening it. I have a Babyliss now and I love it. Gets my edges and ends silky straight with no heat damage. So if I were you, I'd get that FHI.
