FHI 207 RVI VS FHI Platform 1 inch- Is There A Big Difference In Results?

Ladies who have used both of these flat irons- do you see a difference in the way your hair was straighten? I've decided to take the plunge and get this iron as a Christmas gift to a friend, but that $195 price tag on the FHI Platform is killing me. If I get get the older model, the FHI 207 RVI, will we be just as satisfied with the results? To me, the only difference is that the Pltaform has Tourmaline and Nano Technology. Is that enough to pay almost double the price?

I haven't tried either, but I was looking into the platform as a backup iron. The folica had a 10 hr sale for the platform and extras for 79.99 or 89.99 free shipping; amazon also has one for 93 dollars last I checked. HTH

I have the platform and this is the only one that I've used . I have to say Platform is king!
