I prefer flatironing because I've done damage to my ends with pressing combs (an electric gold n' hot one - threw that ish away).

When I flat iron, I only do so if I've either washed and DC'd or on a day that I co-wash if I dont feel like rocking a braidout (I try to stick to only days that I DC and do the whole salon treatment). I've found that for me the best results come when I apply leave in (salerm 21) to my hair while it's wet and leave it to air dry, then apply a glossing serum. When it's dry I apply a little more serum and then proceed to flat iron in SMALL sections on a low heat setting (on my iron it's 284 degrees -- 248 is the lowest setting on mine). I always get very straight, hair blowing in the wind lightness with this technique. When I'm done I lightly moisturize my ends and then seal with coconut oil.:yep:

Nexxus Heat Protexx and Fantasia IC flat Iron Spray.

Ion Straight Frizz Solutions flat iron spray is also pretty good.

I like Redken Heatglide and BBD Flat Iron Lotion,Stretch Creme and Keala oil.
Some times I get old school and use cheapies like Hair Rep and Ultra Sheen Lotion not grease.
I thought the Ultra Sheen Lotion was discontinued years ago,but my BSS sells it.
I like it because it not greasy like the grease and hair feels great.
