Hits: Herbal Essences breaks over creme- this stuff is wonderful as a daily mositurizer and after wash leave-in, the fact that it was 2 bucks on clearance at walgreens didn't hurt either

Garnier sleek and shine conditioner as a pre-poo- left this on my ends for 10 mins before washing and it was heaven, smooth, soft hair

Misses: Loreal vive pro gloss conditioner- wasn't terrible but wasn't great either, might have just been too much protien for me right now, I will try later but I am not in any rush to do so. The bottle is so pretty though, it might just sit in my shower for decoration

Hits: DOO GRO- intense penetrating Conditioner - very good in keeping my hair shiny and soft. Also detangles my hair and for some reason i dont itch my hair as much could be the product. I use this everytime I shampoo.

really only a hit no misses

really only a hit

Misses: Haven't got any misses this time around

That stuff was good. My grandmother used to use it. It saved me when I went to the bahamas two years ago.

Hits: My new stylist:D and Phytospecific:grin:

Miss: My old hairdresser. She's my friend but won't be touching my hair anymore!

I liked that one. But hair dressers seem to bring down people if they dont approve of what your doing. Thats why i think its important have someone you know and trust in your hair. And if you do find one that is a real HIT

MEGA-HIT: Kerastase Oleo-Fusion hair treatment. Love it! Left my hair strong, moisturized and tangle-free for days. :D

MISSES: NTM Silk Touch -- I've finally decided to get rid of this. Just doesn't work for my hair. :(

Ok that was a hit and miss. My babys' hair loves it but I think my hair doesn't like it.
Hit: Got2B Leave in Mender . Also 2 bucks at Walgreens and I love the smell. Oh and this Bano de Crema I bought from bklynwildheart. Its messy as all hell but my hair looks so pretty and soft.

Miss: Natrol MSM pills=garbage

Hits: the entire Nexxus line & ORS mayo mixed with an egg

Misses: Fermodyl....left my hair feeling really dry:mad:

Atleast it wasn't a total waste

I have been eyeing that got2be stuff. I used to love their got2be so smooth line

Nubian Heritage Coconut and Papaya hair butter. I just received it in the mail and, as suspected, it is more like a pomade than a butter, but not as thick/heavy as a pomade or butter. It is perfect. I haven't really tried it out yet -- just a little on my hair -- but I know that this is going to be a keeper. It is the most yummiest smelling thing I have ever bought.

CO washing with Thai Kitchen coconut milk only, nothing else, not mixed with anything.... It is thick and creamy right out of the can. Everything that has been good (soft, silky, smooth, sleek) about my hair over the last 16 months is more today... The feel of my hair today is the best it has ever felt in my life.

Design Line Olive Oil Leave-in Conditioner. It's my first water soluable silicone product (that is... water soluble on the hair not in the bottle). I loved it. This product has been officially added to the rotation.

There's a can of coconut milk in the cabinent that I might have to move to the bathroom. :)

Okay I need to start posting more.

Hit: AUBREY ORGANICS HONEYSUCKLE ROSE conditioner:) :) :) Love it. My hair came out feeling like silk

Miss: Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose shampoo. I don't think my hair likes shampoo. I'm going to leave it alone for awhile.

I was finally able to achieve that natural shine in my hair when I washed with Paul Mitchell Super Skinny conditioner (16 weeks post, this really helps lay the NG down) and followed up with the Aubrey Organics HSR conditioner. Just like silk.

I discovered this board nearly two years ago, and I have bought alot of products and spent a lot of money (all well worth it in my research and journey...) but coconut milk is the best of them all -- and it only costs $1.89 per can. It detangles like a dream, softens, silkens, hydrates/moisturizes, smooths the cuticles and more. As well, my scalp was tingling the entire time the CM was in my hair, nearly an hour. I did not understand this because I did not add any powdered herbs like irish moss, rosemary or nettle like I usually do. I added no oil or other conditioner with peppermint or rosemary or anything... Afterwards, I only put on a little buttery soy creme and a little sidr tree butter balm and I usually am much more heavy-handed with those as well as with a butter or pomade I put over the water-based moisturizer. I used no pomade or butter at all...(and I have so much of each....).

Did you get your coconut milk from a health food store or a grocery store? I tried Goya's coconut milk and I didnt like it, too watery...

I'm sold! I'm crackin' that puppy open as soon as my twists are out. I think the brand is Thai something ??

I got the Thai Kitchen organic coconut milk from Whole Foods. It is so funny because Kroger has a six or seven shelves full of Thai Kitchen products, but the coconut milk it carries is a different brand AND IT IS ON THE SAME SHELF with loads of Thai Kitchen products. It is the only different brand in that entire section. That brand was the one I tried two weeks ago and it was watery and grainy. It did do the job, though, but the Thai Kitchen has a conditioner-like consistency already and it is organic.

ETA: The consistency of the Thai Kitchen coconut milk that I bought at Whole Foods is so thick and creamy that I keep wondering if they mistakenly put coconut cream in a coconut milk can. I am going back today to buy another can just to make sure because my can definitely says coconut milk.

HIT
Nature's Blessings pomade Smells good and leaves my hair soft and shiny!

Not Sure Yet
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor i used this on Tuesday. It seems good so far but I need to use it a few more times before I can give it a good hit or miss.

hit--dove sheer moisture mist
chi silk infusion----thanks navs:D
chi shampoo & conditon
garnier dry and damaged shampoo and conditioner-yummo

miss-- sunsilk hydra tlc 24/7 (just coated my hair)
pantene smooth & sleek leave in comb thru treatment (left hair hair, but I had some nice waves.)
Kid's Organics shea butter lotion-yuck
soft & beautiful relaxer--i remember why I stopped using this :perplexed

Hits - regular regimen

Miss- Beyond The Zone Noodle Head - I was hoping that this would be the low cost replacement for Aveda Be Curly, but NOPE. It sucks the moisture out of my hair and after tying it down overnight with a scarf, I awoke to a frizzy hairline. It may be tolerable if I find the right thing to mix it with, but on it's own :bah:

How do you store the CM after opening the can?

I second this!

I haven't tried the Sleek and Shine Conditioner yet...*adds to list*

Garnier makes my heart sing.

I actually store mine in one of my Lock & Lock containers. For the last two weeks, I have been adding it to my conditioner and CO washing five days a week, then adding to my DC and pre-poo if I do a pre-poo on the weekends, so I use it all up after five or six days. Last night was the first time I tried it alone. I am hooked! I will probably go back to CO washing once or twice a week soon, but I am really loving this stuff.

ETA: In a Lock & Lock container in the refrigerator.
