Fasting question

Is it okay for fast for someone else?

I'm going to try to explain this without confusing whoever reads.

Is it possible to fast for another person so that some obstacle or life changing event which is coming, for God to be with them in full force so that they may be successful in this trial???? Or is that something that the person themselves needs to do?

And also if the person doesn't really believe in the idea of fasting can you then do it for them. I know that fasting is usually used to allow God to tell you what he wants but is it still possible to do this for someone VERY important to you?

Short answer: YES.

Longer answer: fasting brings us closer to the Lord through sacrifice of fleshly desires. We can direct our prayers/intercession during a fast toward a particular thing/person/situation.

And the person that you may be interceding for does not have to know what you are doing. The fast is still between the Lord and you.

I wasn't going to tell the person...I know what he would say and at the same time I don't know. I just want him to be successful and I know only God can help him do that.

I concur with this but please BeyondBlessed remember others can resist prayers. Utlimately, they still have self will to make final decision but Intercessory prayer is the MOS powerful prayer that is. God will also reward you for you committment of love towards that person. God Bless!

Yes you can. I've 'stood in the gap' for other people before. As a matter of fact, I'm currently fasting and praying for a situation someone else is going through.

Thank you for the warning...he knows I'm praying about the situation but I didn't say that I was going to fast for it.
