Fasting in The Bible

Are there fasts outlined in The Bible? If so where are they?

Some Bibles have the references in the back of Bible under fasting. This subject is through out the whole Bible. Esther fast, Dainels fast and of course Jesus's fast. Fasting and praying is a powerful tool that helps us to connect to inner spirit even more. It demonstates that God is enough and He has all power and the He can do everything but fail. Christian Books stores have books on this subject. A good one would be by Arthur Willis I love, love this book. It has really helped a great deal. Fasting and praying for me has helped me stay to celibate and stayed focus on God and it also puts more pressure on the enemy making him loose my blessing for me and my family.

I was wondering, when you fast are you to do it in secret? Also, can you fast with others for the same purpose or reason at the same time? I mean like if you're in agreement. I know churches do this under the Pastor or Bishop's direction, but I was wondering if it's something between you and someone else (like a spouse or other family member for example).

I love to fast however I don't always have the will to fast. I've done the Esther fast several times. which is a fast for family matters. It's 3 days absolute. However we must drink water. I always breakthrough with tremendous power.

But when I can't fast I praise my way through.

1/2 day fast work well also.

My husband and I have fasted together, and we have fasted with our church also. I don't think you have to do it in secret.
