I couldn't make it all the way through. I love expression and flair but that was too much noise for me.

But relating to the topic, we have discussed the 3 phases on hear and there has been discussion on whether everyone can get long hair. So it's not a new discussion. I think her coverage of it was just a waste of time, a lot of noise and more confusing than the confusion she was supposed to be correcting.

Even if what she was hinting at was true, if you grow for 3 years at the avg of 1/2 inch a month and retain 5", you still have 15" of hair which would still be considered long hair. And if you did 5 years you would have 25" of hair. So her whole theory is blown out of the water because she can't do math.

Yay, yous is school....

Now go take a few seats....lol

(I suppose this is news for some, lemme skip outta this thread)

I'm sorry I don't believe all of it...I feel like we would all be bald for periods of time, or at least have really thin hair 24/7. Most black women have issues with breakage which is a problem with retention...not growth. I take lightly what most cosmetologist say...a lot of them are still learning that trimming hair makes it grow...

just my opinion

Ok mamas I thought it was just me:lol:

The thing that had me looking at her crazy was the comments about if you have always been SL or EL you will always be that length...so not true.

I'm not sure if everyone can have long hair but I definitely wouldn't tell someone who has never had long hair to completely dismiss the idea. The only way to find out if you can grow your hair long is by focusing on retention and keeping a healthy scalp. If you do that for some odd years (yes years) and your hair still isn't long then you'll need to accept your hairs fate. But I've never seem some one who takes care of their hair not be able to grow it out.

I guess that is what bothers me about what she is saying but she is entitled to her opinion.

I'm subscribed to her and I've never heard her say such backwards things. She is very knowledgeable, well most of the time. She made that part two because she got alot of flack and as she should. I can't help but think...she came into beauty school with common sense and came out with all this "knowledge"...Is this why a lot of stylist are only good for styling and nothing else?

She is just programming her customers and future customers so they don't have high expectations. She told them going in they wouldn't have long hair so she has a pass. So she can say I told you that everyone can't grow long hair.

Is that Vivacious? Did she get another channel and change her name?
Yep thats her, can't remember why exactly but it was something about she didn't like the name Vivacious anymore or something... I really like her videos, and I love her personality but where this video came from is beyond me.

I'm subscribed to her and while I think she left a lot to be desired with her examples and delivery, I agree with most of what she said. The video was about the age old question of terminal length/time, which is true IMO. You can't overcome your genes when it comes to hair growth. You have a max growth rate per month and a max growth time with your anagen phase and that's it. If you retain 100% of that, you will show your max hair length. Most people never grow at max rate or for max time [due to diet, stress, hair styling, etc.] so they never see long lengths. That's why I disagree with her that if you've been at sl your whole life you shouldn't try to go past that. Most people's max is probably well past sl but they stay stuck because of bad hair practices and products.

Once one starts implementing good techniques and using the correct products for their hair more than likely that'll translate into longer hair lengths. It's important to note though that they didn't overcome their genes as much as they overcame detrimental hair practices.

I saw those videos earlier ( I'm a subscriber) and I just KNEW it would be a post on LHCF about it lol

I couldn't get through the second video. Idk she talks to matter-of-fact like to me. Like she's trying to correct us.

The thing I don't get about terminal length is that we shed hair everyday so its pretty safe to assume that most of the strands on our heads are not on the same phase or the same stage of a phase.

I have never seen a marketing plan like that in my life :nono: Even the products she uses "promises" something. She promises nothing :nono: Wow.

She should have done a review on those earrings instead :look:

Right and this is something she should of touched on as well if she was going to even bring up this topic. It's like she covered the "you will never have long hair part" and left it at that. Maybe she isn't as knowledgeable as she thinks. Hair school or not.
