In hair purgatory
hello all. after doing research i thought lye would be the best to use for my texturizer. so i used hawaiian silky for 5 minutes no smoothing my hair feel so dry. i asked this question earlier but it seems to have been overlooked. i got a few replies and tried them but my hair is unbelievably dry. ive had some awful breakage and cannot detangle my hair any more. and somehow a small dreadlock formed at my nape while i was wearing twists.:perplexed I had a texturizer before but i never had hair as dry as this. im at a loss of what to do. i dont want to loose even more hair:sad: Im very confused . my hair feels like the time i triple processed it with color

SOunds like you need to a lot of DC's and maybe if it is possible with your schedule do co-washes to get moisture back in your hair.

cowashing is doing nothing right now. i tried dcing but when i think about it they have been mostly proteins. i will try the cholesterol and see how that does.

You might not like this but try some S-curl moisturizer. It does wonders for dry hair. I think it's because of the glycerin in it.

ok so i did a hardcore aphogee treatment because i felt that it was needed. then i just used Herbal essences breaks over. now my hair feel quite nice! and the breakage stopped. the protien treatment makes my hair feel so much like before which is good since itll make the transition easier

That's great! I'm glad to hear that everything worked out.:yep:

Sounds like the Hawiian Silky was not completely neutralized and the cuticle is still open, that's why it can not retain any moisture. Before anytihng I would give it another good shampoo with a neutralizing shampoo then moisturizing conditioner or Porisity Control conditioner. HTH
