Good question. I was in the bss yesterday and a woman said her stylist recommended a hair grease with sulfur for a broken patch she had. The clerks didn't know what she was talking about. I told her to look for Glover's, Frenchees, BB Pine Tar or Isoplus Sulfur...

I copied this a while ago. I forgot from where--

The mineral sulfur is needed for the manufacture of many proteins, including those forming hair, muscles, and skin.

That makes sense for using sulfur internally. I don't know how it works topically.

I think it's good in preventing dandruff (alot of anti-dandruff sutff has it in it), and the tingling stimulated the scalp and promoted growth for some people.

Also, it elongates the life of hair strands. There's more MSM (sulfur) in hair and nails than in any part of the body (or so I've read). So I suppose that when you ingest it, in a sense, feeds your hair and nails.

Yep it helps with dandruff! My stylist recommended it to me. It helps with growth too...the nape of my neck was very short a year or so ago. I used Sulfur 8 on it...and it's a good 4 or 5 inches long now (hair touches the base of my neck). Before the growth with sulfur 8...it was less than 1in! I stopped using it though because of the smell. It was more than I could take....I will use it again...maybe right before a co wash. I mean it works!

Queenmean, I bumped up a thread for you that talks about sulfur.

Hope that helps!
