So, I found an expired bottle of GNC Women's Ultra Mega Vitamins. Expired in 7/2005. Can I still use them?

I wouldnt and I love the comic strip! GOnna steal it for my presentation :)

I had similar problem but w/ GNC's b 50 complex I noticed it was expired a week ago w/ actually the same date, but just think I've been taking it 9 months. I threw 'em in garbage and was wondering if I need to consult my Dr. I've read some where a while back that expired medication can be dangerous. Than again i was in walmart and was taking to one the ladies stocking vitamins about using expired vitamins and she claims they can be taken up to a yr. But I don't know about that seems theres a reason they put the date there. Hopely just cause there not as good as they would be before that date. but let me know what you find out and I'll do the same. Cause like I said i did the same and I'm really wondering about being poisoned in some way. Matter a fact I'm getting on the phone right now and call my Dr. and soon as i find out I'll let ya know.

i wouldn't take them.
Its not like they just expired, its months, nearly a year overdue.
I always throw out any medical stuff in the bathroom that has not been used up or expired.
The date must be there for a reason, but someone must know for sure.

The expiry date is because like anything, it can possibly lose potency over time, get old and/or not be as effective. In the case of vitamins, general rule of thumb is you can take them at least 1 year past the expiration date if you store them properly. (in a dark cool area, no sunlight)

If you've not stored them properly then throw them away because they can lose their potency if they were stored in a hot damp place or in sunlight.

A couple of yrs ago, my expired iron pills (life just got busy) broke me out in hives. Now I keep up with the dates.

*lol* Classic right? Aaron is a genius!

Thanks ladies! Gosh, I hate to throw them out. It's a perfectly good, full bottle. They've been in the back of my linen closet all this time! Cool and dark! *sigh* I'm so cheap! lol.

just toss them, no guarantee your getting the potency you would get if they werent

what i did before with my old vitamins was to crush a few and add them mostly to a rinse out conditioner,or exfoliating, massaging shampoo.... only on wash day....especially vit c,biotin.panthenol
