Okay so while I've been away I've been practicing and last night had some success.

But for some reason I can't do the right side of my head. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

The left side I do great and my braid (just doing two so far) looks pretty and then the other side I just can't do it.

What am I doing wrong? Is it a finger placement thing? Is there some trick to get my brain to do this without freaking out?

You have to really, really think about it. Watch your hands in a mirror, so that you can see what you are doing, and try to replicate that on the other side. It took me forever to be able to get both sides of my head 'going' the same direction....

I don't have the muscle memory yet and it drives me nuts. I will try it with mirrors. I've been practicing sitting up with my eyes closed so far and that's got me doing it right for the first few at least.

Thanks. :)

I suck at cornrows and cannot do them straight back on my own head. I had to get my sister to do them straight back. I didn't feel bad though because she has been doing them for years on her daughter's hair but she cannot do them straight back on her own head either.

I can only do them sideways after practicing with my sister and mirrors.
