Experience with Silicon Mix Conditioner?

I think if it hadn't been hyped as a "moisturizing conditioner" I would have liked it more. I was expecting the softest hair of my life, and I got so-so. It did define and seem to curl my new growth more. And as my hair dried, it did feel stong and springy, looked even healthier after the one use. So I'm thinking of it as a protein condish right now, and would probably add a more softening conditioner (Quidad and Giovani 50:50 remoisturizer are good ones for me) afterwards.

I bought a big ole tube of this junk because everyone was raving about it (I was a newbie) and was underwhelmed, havent used it since. I need to get ride of it so I guess I'll use it up. Maybe it will surprise me on the revisit.

If you don't like it, keep it and use it on hair pieces and wigs., It is excellent at restoring them to new.

No bad experiences, I really liked it. I can't wait to get some more. I can see how someone wouldn't like the smell.....I happen to love it though. When you take the jar and just sniff it it's like:ohwell:, but when you use it in your hair and rinse it out and your hair dries it smells yummy. Kinda like strong baby powder to me, lol.

I love it. The scent can be overwhelming, but once it's rinsed out it leaves a pleasant smell on the hair. It leaves my hair really soft and that's saying something. I'm a 4a/4b natural.

I got a big ole jar of that stuff for my lace fronts last year. The ladies at BHM swears it can bring one back from the dead. It never occurred to me to try it on my own hair :scratchch

Per the ingredients I use it as an instant conditioner.....definitely not a deep conditioner or protein.....I would say a moisturizing instant conditioner.

ITA, although I haven't used Silicon Mix in a couple of months, it works best for my 4a hair as an instant conditioner versus a deep conditioner.

Silicon Mix (in the tub) has become my staple. I love the stuff for DC's! SM is one of only few products that I have bought over and over again!!

You won't be sorry.
