Hi. I'm kinda new here but I've read many of your posts, even from waaay back in the archives, and I see that you are very "learned" on vitamins, supplements, and health in general. On one of your previous posts you say something about alternating biotin. What do you mean by that? Do you mean taking one brand one day and another the next? I'm attempting to begin a supplement regime and I'm trying to gather as much info as I can. Thanks.

Hi, Mona Cherie!!

I am most honored that you read my posts, especially the ones from waaaaaaaaay back /images/graemlins/grin.gif

What I Meant By "Alternating" the Biotin. I meant to alternate brands on a monthly basis. I think if you are experiencing a period where you feel like the biotin is not as effective as it once was, you should try it to see if you notice a difference. As I noted before, the issue seems to be quite prevalent.

Big Welcome to the Newbie! It's always a pleasure to see newcomers and I just wanted to give you a warm welcome. If you ever have any problems or issues with your supplement regime or anything else for that matter, I would be happy to assist if I can.

Cheers and Much Joy to you,

Jade

Thanks for the welcome and for answering my question! I'm so excited to finally learn how to maintain healthy, faster growing hair. I just have one more question. I know that you also recommend Country Life Maxi Hair and Puritan's Pride Green Source. Can these two be taken together? I see that the Green Source has 15,000 IU of Vitamin A and the Maxi Hair has 5000 IU. Is that an overload of vitamin A? Do you think taking these together may have some adverse affects? Thanks for extending your assistance because things can get a little confusing for us newbies. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

It not because the vitamin a in the greensource is beta carotene. Your body converts that into vitamin a as it needs it. You really can't overload on beta carotene. The vitamin a in the maxi hair is different and thats the one you can get too much of.
